This weekend we are featuring five different beers from the Breckenridge Brewery located in Denver, CO.

The brewery was started in 1990 by Richard Squire, who at the time was a Colorado ski bum.  Like most microbrewery founders, Richard started as a homebrewer.  The original brewery began in the beautiful mountains in Breckendridge, CO.  By 1992, due to popular demand, a second brewery was opened in downtown Denver.  Then in 1996 a brewing and bottling facility was also opened in Denver.

Breckenridge Brewery brews 6 year round beers along with four rotating seasonals.  They also brew four high gravity “small batch” beers called 471 series.

Breckenridge Vanilla Porter A creamy Porter brewed with real vanilla beans from Paupau New Guinea and Madagascar.  Roasted chocolate, caramel and vanilla combine to make a delicious and sweet, smooth ale perfect for cold weather.  4.7% abv.

Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout A robust stout brewed with oat flakes.  The roasted malt and barley give off flavors and aromas of dark roasted coffee, chocolate, and caramel.  A smooth, yet bold beer with a slightly dry finish.  4.95% abv.

Breckenridge Avalanche Amber Ale A blend of caramel and pale malts with a touch of hops makes this a very flavorful, medium to full-bodied, beer.  This smooth and rich Amber Ale is now available in cans!  5.4% abv

Breckenridge 471 IPA Brewed with 5 styles of malt and 4 varieties of hops.  This Imperial IPA has a huge floral and piney hop flavor balanced by a semi-sweet bready malt base.  A perfect High Gravity IPA.  9.2% abv.

Breckenridge Agave Wheat This American, unfiltered wheat, beer is brewed with Salmiana Agave.  The agave adds an interesting and refreshing light quality that differentiates this wheat beer from the rest.  4.2% abv.

The price per sample is $0.50 each, except the 471 IPA is $0.75 a sample.  The customer can still sample all five for $2.
